Simple. Easy. Quick. After the veggies are cut, all of the ingredients are cooked in the same pot, making cooking and cleanup a breeze. While we didn’t keep track of prep time, it was less than the 10 minutes the recipe card indicated it would take (the opposite is usually true)!
The kale was fresh and crispy. The carrots were bright and crunchy. The onion was just mild enough to add some earthy, fresh flavor. On the surface, everything seems like very basic ingredients. However, when combined with fresh garlic and Italian seasoning, they come together to make a very enjoyable soup.
The sweet Italian sausage, the fresh vegetables, and the simple, yet complimentary seasonings resulted in a surprisingly unique and delicious flavor. The garlic butter ciabatta toast was also the perfect side to this savory soup.
The prep, cooking, and cleanup were easy. The ingredients were simple, yet perfect for this soup. And the end result revealed why HelloFresh’s One-Pot Chicken Sausage & Kale Soup deserves it’s spot in the Hall of Fame category. This one is a must-try.
